Biomedical Enterprises Inc. (BME) was founded in 1998 by a physician with 30 years of experience in the field of dialysis, to research, develop and commercialize medical devices for the dialysis industry. BME has been performing research in this field over the last ten years funded by $1.5 million in grants from the National Institute of Health. BME research included collaborators from the George Washington Univ., Georgia Inst. of Technology, Univ. of Alabama, Univ. of Texas, Mayo Clinic, MedStar Research Institute (Wash. DC), Georgetown Univ. and Children Hospital (Wash. DC).
BME has made breakthrough discoveries which contribute to identify a cause of many medical complications occurring in patients receiving dialysis for kidney failure, and has found solutions to these problems which are innovative new designs of several dialysis devices. The BME solutions will decrease medical complications, the cost of care and the mortality of dialysis patients.
